It start by a 12 hours excursion to the Andes, leaving at
7:30am, the Andes are so different around Mendoza, so bare, no trees, a lot of
dust, amazingly beautiful, our first stop was at Potrerillos Mendoza fresh water reservoir,
very low level, Mendoza is under water emergency since the last 5 years, we also stop at Puente Del Inca.

Puente Del Inca |
Puente del Inca is also the name of the nearby hot springs.
Scientists speculate that interaction of extreme elements like ice and hot
springs was involved in the origin of the formation. They suppose that in
ancient times ice covered the river and acted as support for avalanches of
snow, dust and rocks. So the dust over the ice over the river would have served
as a path for the sulfurous water and petrified the surface, so when the snow
melted, the bridge remained by itself.
It was an interesting excursion, but I will have to go back
with a driver, that way I can stop where and when I want but that excursion
give me a great overview and where to stop.
We also had 2 asados during the holidays, it’s a great way
to share food with friends,
is a term
used both for a range of barbecue techniques and the social event of having or
attending a barbecue in Argentina it is considered the national dish, and it
last for hours, eating different cut of meat. It start by putting the wood on
fire around 8pm drinking and eating appetizers, normally the chorizos or
sausages are ready first, and after whatever is ready goes next, it last all
night.

Asado, so good!!! |
In between we went to an
amazing ballet, it was a great
shooting experience, the light was changing continually flashing with deferent
force and color, I decided to shoot manually and that was the best option, continually
changing my setting, I found out that my Canon 5D is the most intuitive camera
to shoot manual. it would of be impossible to do this kind of shooting
otherwise. To see more of the ballet follow this link

We finish the holidays with a great diner at our friends house, Gisel and Marielle it was an amazing diner with authentic Argentine food, empanadas done from scratch the best ever, chicken and home made fries, and to start picada with great Malbec, and to finish chocolate with Marsela, Cognac and Porto, first time in my life that I dipped my chocolate in my Porto, it was very good I will do it again, it was our first diner in an Argentine house, and it was fantastic,
The rest of the time I walked around town visiting Park San Martin,
downtown, Independencia Plaza.
