Jasper is a small town in the heart of the Canadian Rockies with
a population just over 5000.
This little town is my favorite place in the Rockies, I don’t
visit it enough, too far away!
The trip from Calgary will take around 5.5 h, passing by the
scenic route without too much traffic, and no accident, it can be a lot longer
during the holidays. People that are coming from Edmonton can make it in about
4.5h depending of traffic volume.

Being far away from the big cities make Jasper a perfect destination
to relax, especially if you compare it to Banff, Lake Louise and Canmore that
are extremely busy.
Last time we visit Jasper was in 1995, there is more restaurants
and shops but otherwise is the same beautiful and relaxing little town feeling.

Going out in Jasper for breakfast, lunch or dinner is great,
excellent bars and restaurants, my 2 favorite patio are Earl’s Restaurant with
a panoramic view of the Mountains, and the rooftop patio of Jasper Pizza Place,
both have amazing view, and cause we normally only take appetizers and drinks
the view is essential for us.
Earl’s is great and the food is excellent, if you go to the
Pizza Place and you are a fan of olive oil, you have to try their Fresh Oven
Bread w/Import Olive Oil and Balsamic “Family owned olive oil straight from
Greece” amazing taste, too bad they don’t sell it bottled! I would of buy a case!
We stay at the Bear Hill Lodge in a small and comfortable
cabin, the location is perfect walking distance to all services, bars and restaurants.

Jasper is an amazing destination for landscape and nature
photographer, and the scenic drive from Calgary passing through Banff National
Park is a must.

Such incredible images...I just love how the mountains are so close to the roadways. I did a quick in and out of Jasper years ago on a road trip so didn't see much. After seeing your beautiful pics, I'll make it a point to stay longer on my next trip! Thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThank you Sarah, Jasper is an amazing place, hope to go back for at least 2 weeks next time, now time to focus on my South America adventure, leaving Aug. 15 for hopefully a couple of years, that's a bit scary, but new adventure always bring more than expected, I will try to write more posts and maybe some vlog.
