Black and White Fine Art Nude Project

I always liked black and white for fine art nude,  I like the simplicity of it,  no color distraction at all.
For this project I wanted simple beautiful arty images, minimalist style with a minimum of props focusing on the shape of my subject keeping her anonymous, no eyes contact no facial expression.

I find that eyes contact and facial expression are more suitable for glamour and for this project I really wanted fine art nude.

It was done with a minimum of equipment, Canon 5d Markiii, Canon  24-105 Lens, Lensbaby Pinehole and soft focus optics, 2 Canon Speedlites 600EX-RT on a tripod bouncing on a circular white reflector and Canon radio transmitter  ST-E3-RT for the flashes that were set manually.

We worked in a very small space in my bedroom, not more than 10x10 feet, using mostly only one white wall that had no distraction, it was far from the comfort of a studio, but nothing is impossible when working with a great subject!

We did the best with what we got, and the result of that cooperation and interaction between my subject and I was the most beautiful set of fine art black and white images.

ArtofWhere is located in Cananda but  ship from both Canada and the USA.  This means that Canadian and American customers never have to pay duties or customs fees since they handle the border crossing.  Even on wholesale orders totalling over hundreds of dollars, you will never have to pay any surprise fees once your order reaches you.

Currently US and international orders are shipped on Tuesdays and Fridays from within the USA.  Orders to US customers generally take 2-6 business days once shipped within the USA.  International orders generally take 6-10 business days but may be delayed by the customs of your country.  All orders shipped from the USA will have a tracking number that can be tracked with the USPS.
Orders for Canadian customers normally ship within 2-8 business days of the order being placed.  Shipping to Eastern Provinces takes about 3-4 business days and shipping to Western provinces can take 4-7 business days.

How to do Abstract with Photoshop

The list of steps to use to do this kind of abstract.

1. Start with any photo doesn’t matter the subject, look at color you like
2. Filter > Pixelate > Mezzotint > Medium lines  
3. Filter > Blur > Radial blur (slider = 100, blur method = zoom, quality = best)
4. Repeat step 3 up to 5 times, as desired,
5. Duplicate layer
6. Remain on original layer. Filter > Distort > Twirl (angle value = +80 or as desired) I don’t go over 120, but you can do whatever you like, try different angle.
7. Select new layer. Filter > Distort > Twirl (angle value = -80 or opposite of step 6 angle value)
8. Alter new layer’s blending mode to lighten
9. Save a Psd,
10. Flatten image
11. Modify if needed, color, hue and saturation, cropping, whatever you want to do.

I normally use a large resolution file that way I can crop into it.

Topaz Impression, reflection

I wanted to try Topaz Impression adding my own parameters, I picked an image from Buenos Aires, traffic commotion, such a busy city!

Using Photoshop, I cleaned the image from unwanted cars and trucks added a bit more taxis using the clone tool. Next I added a bit of saturation saved it as tiff "base image", before opening Topaz impression.
I did 2 images the first one using Pencil Sketch 11, changed the parameters to add saturation till I was happy with the result about .60, added smudge .20 and saved the preset for next time, saved that new image as Tiff " color draw"

Re opened Topaz Impression with my saved Tiff, and this time I used Da Vinci 11, only changed the coverage to .70 saved that second image as Tiff too "Da Vinci Draw".

To get the final result I used Da Vinci Draw, changed the canvas size to add canvas only to the bottom of the the image, next I used Flood a software from Flaming Pear to get the reflection I was looking for. Saved that new image as Da Vinci Reflection.

Re opened the color draw image select all from the select top menu, copy from the top edit menu, and paste it on my Da Vinci Reflection image layer to cover the top of the image leaving only the reflection view, did a bit of clean up to mix the 2 layers, added some tone and framed it.

After playing with Topaz Impression the last few days, I really like this new software, easy to use and flexible.
