Living in Southern Alberta, in the small town of Okotoks, I
am surrounded by farms and ranches.

One day on spring 2013 driving along the country roads to shoot buffaloes, I observed some Hereford
bulls in a field not far from the buffalo farm, when I got to the big beasts farm, I couldn't see any buffaloes
they were too far away in the field, I
decided to forget about the big beast and stop on the side of the road close by
the Hereford bulls.
I passed at least 2 hours, shooting them, they were adorable,
very curious, and timid, I think they are afraid of their own shadows, every sounds
or brisk movement from myself or a car passing buy made them nervous, and they
all back out in a row, so funny to see these bulls all marching together, like
troopers. It was a great experience,
probably
a lot better than shooting the ferocious buffaloes from far away, these little bulls were very friendly and got very close to the fence giving me the chance to not only shooting them up close but also feel, smell almost being part of their cattle, at one point they were probably not more than a meter from me.

Canon 5D Markiii, Canon 24-105 at 35mm, f7.1, 1/200sec, ISO200, I like the flexibility of the 24-105 zoom lens, from wide angle to telephoto, the perfect travel lens. |
