Lunch in Mendoza Argentina

Mendoza Lunch at the Park Hyatt, Canon Rebel Xsi, Canon 24-105 at 55mm, f4, 1/13sec. ISO400
Argentina has great food, always fresh, fresh fruits and vegetables all year long, great wine, and a lot of meat lovers, beef is king, and BBQ called Asado, a way of cooking that all Argentines used, mostly to entertain guests.
A variety of meat cuts and sausages are cooked slowly all day, it’s not only a cooking process but also a networking event. These post photos were shot at Mendoza Park Hyatt, during the monthly foreigner club lunch event, event sponsored by a winery, yes wine was pouring no empty glass here! The fee for that feast was more than reasonable, a great way to meet new foreigners and make new friends.

Provoleta, Provolone cheese cut in very thick slices, grill on the parilla, during an Asado, so delicious, and very fattening, goes down well with a glass of Malbec, Canon Rebel Xsi, Canon 24-105 at 95mm, f4, 1/1250 sec. ISO 400

My Neighbors The Hereford bulls

Canon 5D Markiii, Canon 24-105 at 50mm, f4, 1/320sec, ISO 200, added texture

Living in Southern Alberta, in the small town of Okotoks, I am surrounded  by farms and ranches.

Canon 5D Markiii, Canon 100-400 at 400mm, f7.1, 1/500sec, ISO200, close up using telephoto lens
One day on spring 2013 driving along the country roads to shoot buffaloes,   I observed some Hereford bulls in a field not far from the buffalo farm,  when I got to the big beasts farm, I couldn't see any buffaloes  they were too far away in the field, I decided to forget about the big beast and stop on the side of the road close by the Hereford bulls.
I passed at least 2 hours, shooting them, they were adorable, very curious, and timid, I think they are afraid of their own shadows, every sounds or brisk movement from myself or a car passing buy made them nervous, and they all back out in a row, so funny to see these bulls all marching together, like troopers. It was a great experience, probably a lot better than shooting the ferocious buffaloes from far away, these little bulls were very friendly and got very close to the fence giving me the chance to not only shooting them up close but also feel, smell almost being part of their cattle, at one point they were probably not more than a meter from me.

Canon 5D Markiii, Canon 24-105 at 35mm, f7.1, 1/200sec, ISO200, I like the flexibility of the 24-105 zoom lens, from wide angle to telephoto, the perfect travel lens.
